Mobilize Your Hips With This Simple Daily Stretch
Your hip joint is a connection point between your legs and your torso. Specifically, it’s made up of your thigh bone (femur) and your hip bone (pelvis). It’s a ball-and-socket joint that supports your body weight and allows you to move your upper leg.
It’s a very important part of the musculoskeletal system and when something goes wrong pain can occur not just in the hip but also in the legs, knees and the lower back. This can often make it difficult to diagnose.
Common causes of hip pain include osteoarthritis, joint infection, sprains and fractures. While a lot of older people suffer from hip pain, young people are not exempt. Hip pain is common amongst athletes due to wear and tear on the joints.
Patients with moderate hip arthritis can enjoy the benefits of a low-impact exercises like walking and light stretching. This helps by keeping joints lubricated. If the hip joint is lubricated, it eases pain and makes it easier for the hip to move.
In this video we share a simple stretch which you should do to mobilize your hips daily. It’s a useful stretch to do after getting up from bed or from sitting for a period of time.
